Measured Building Surveys

NRLS provide comprehensive measured building surveys, including floor and roof plans, elevations (both external and internal) and cross and longitudinal sections. The level and amount of detail surveyed depends on the purpose of the survey. This could range from basic floor plans only for space planning to a fully comprehensive survey for listed buildings or churches. Barn conversions, for example, require extensive measurements of roof trusses, purlins, beams and undulating floors.

Measured building surveys provide accurate and detailed plans of a building layout and structure, and are a valuable tool to enable Architects, Developers or Interior Designers to confidently prepare their schemes and to make best use of all available space. Elevations are measured using reflectorless Total Stations enabling inaccessible detail to be measured as well as allowing measurement of adjoining properties in an unobtrusive manner. All elevations are drawn using our own in-house developed software.

NRLS have carried out numerous measured building surveys over the past 22 years, including:

  • Detailed floor plans to the Regent Arcade Shopping Centre in Cheltenham and The Maltings in Salisbury
  • Full measured building and land survey to the 17-storey former Kodak Headquarters in Hemel Hempsted
  • Full measured survey at Tropicana, Weston-Super-Mare
  • Numerous surveys to churches, manor houses, barns and public houses
